Happy Hallowe'en

It is generally believed that smooth coats require very little grooming.  I, however, require hours of work to look this effortless.  I put in the long hours so that I can mingle with the populace incognito.

As it is Hallowe'en, I've decided to show you how I look as my true self, in my "birthday suit," so to speak.

The Official Palace Portrait

Alas, the best Court Jester in the land has arrived for the party.

Jester Tyrone- always dressed to impress

I've dispatched my Valet, Tunder, to retrieve the bowl of Hallowe'en Treats.  Now, what is taking him so long?

"Oh, Tun-der, I'm wai-ting !"
"Have you not found the bowl of treats, yet?"
"Ack!  Good help's hard to find!"

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN !

Who is Jack Frost?

AND what's up with the crunchy white grass beneath my feet this morning, Jack?  The -2c temp prompted this to appear!  Not sure what to think of this thing called a "s-w-e-a-t-e-r."

GQ, take notice!

Well, atleast while wearing the sweater, I can still SIT...

RUN...

make my ears FLY...

and get into MISCHIEF...

while looking like a Harvardite - "Go, Crimson!"

Bowsers Bliss

At last, my very own Bowsers bed!  Thanks to RENS (Guelph) for having a great "tent sale."  Here I am christening my new bed (no, not in that way!).

Teeny Tiny Tunnel

Growing like a weed!  Time to upgrade to a full-size tunnel.

Look at that patience

Tunnel!

Lift Off

Success!  Puppy and Photographer!

Who says human-training is too time-consuming?

Not sure if this contravenes any "rules" but here I am playing two games at once: "It's Yer Choice" while reclining on my "magic carpet." It was actually a game of "flying" treats and I was supposed to leave the treats that weren't preceded by a "yes." Mom explained the rules of this new version of the game by saying "leave" with the first treat she threw. From then on, the only word I heard was "yes" which meant I could eat the next treat that was thrown on the bed. I really enjoyed this game because most of the treats that were thrown followed a "yes."

That's a tremendous amount of willpower for a 21-week-old puppy!

Treats have landed under my nose...

and they're mine (not all of the "yes" treats landed this close to me)

I've heard "yes" and I'm watching the treat fly toward me
In short, with this game, I've been generously rewarded for:  (1) staying calmly and quietly on a bed, (2) maintaining focus on Mom and (3) demonstrating great self-control, all while learning that (4) flying food isn't mine unless I've been told it is and (5) great things follow the word "leave."  Time it took to get a huge haul of treats out of Mom: 10 minutes.

Beautiful Fall Weekend

On Saturday, in spite of the overcast skies, Tunder and I worked on our recalls and then had lots of fun running through the leaves.

Can you come out to play?

Today was sunny and much warmer and I took my first walk along the boardwalk.  WOW!  So many birds...BIG birds...noisy birds!

Quiet House 2

How I've been keeping busy since the departure of Tyro and Tunder:

Joined Tyro, Tunder, Diva and Miska Mom on Sunday
for a run in the woods

Looks like I'm bursting out of an Impressionist painting
